MBBS, MD (Paediatrics) FRCPCH
I am a Consultant in Paediatric Sleep and Respiratory Medicine with over 15 years of experience in paediatrics and more than 7 years working as an NHS consultant. My clinical practice focuses on the assessment and management of sleep-related conditions in children and young people, including obstructive sleep apnoea and insomnia, alongside a wide range of respiratory conditions such as asthma, recurrent respiratory infections, and complex lung disease.
I lead a paediatric sleep service and manage children requiring advanced respiratory support, including CPAP and non-invasive ventilation. Alongside my clinical work, I contribute to service development and clinical leadership, serving regionally as Clinical Co-Chair of the Midlands Sleep Group and internationally as a Director of the International Pediatric Sleep Association (IPSA). I have a particular interest in improving access to specialist care, developing integrated pathways, and using innovative and digital approaches to improve the diagnosis and long-term management of sleep and respiratory conditions in children.
I specialise in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of paediatric sleep and respiratory disorders. This includes comprehensive clinical evaluation, interpretation of diagnostic investigations, and the development of personalised treatment plans for children and young people with sleep and breathing difficulties.
My work includes the use and interpretation of paediatric sleep diagnostics such as polysomnography, cardiorespiratory sleep studies, overnight oximetry, and actigraphy to diagnose conditions including sleep-disordered breathing, obstructive sleep apnoea, insomnia, circadian rhythm disorders, and sleep difficulties in children with neurodevelopmental conditions. I also provide guidance on behavioural and medical management strategies for sleep disorders and support families in implementing practical treatment approaches to improve sleep and overall wellbeing.
My respiratory practice includes the investigation and management of asthma, chronic cough, recurrent respiratory infections, and other complex lung diseases in children. I have expertise in managing children who require advanced respiratory support, including CPAP and non-invasive ventilation, and in optimising treatment through multidisciplinary care involving respiratory, sleep, ENT, and community teams.
