FRCPCH, MSc
I am a Consultant Paediatrician with over 20 years of experience caring for children, with a special focus on paediatric respiratory conditions. Since 2018, I have worked as a consultant in Hull, where I look after children with both general medical needs and complex breathing problems. Families value my approachable manner, clear communication, and commitment to involving parents in every step of their child’s care.
I specialise in children’s breathing and lung problems, including asthma, wheeze, chronic cough, chest infections, cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis and long-term lung disease in premature babies, and I provide expert on-call support for families dealing with urgent respiratory concerns. I also see children with snoring, sleep-related breathing problems and rare conditions such as primary ciliary dyskinesia. Alongside this, I provide care for a wide range of general childhood conditions, from common infections and allergies to more complex medical issues. My work includes both hospital care when children are acutely unwell and outpatient clinics for ongoing management and support.
Each year, I provide over 150 specialist outpatient clinics. I have extensive experience in managing complex cases such as severe asthma attacks, complex neuro respiratory needs and rare lung conditions. Alongside this, I continue to support families with everyday health concerns, ensuring that children receive safe, effective and compassionate care.
Alongside my clinical work, I play an active role in teaching, research and service development. I am an Honorary Tutor at Hull York Medical School, where I teach and examine medical students, and I also supervise junior doctors in training. I lead clinical audits within my department to make sure our services are safe and continually improving. Regionally, I am a member of the Yorkshire Cystic Fibrosis Network, the Long-Term Ventilation Group and the Difficult Asthma Working Group, helping to shape care pathways for children across the region. I am also involved in national and international research studies, acting as a Principal Investigator for several major trials in childhood respiratory health.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and exploring the Yorkshire countryside on long walks. I have a passion for reading and continuous learning, which extends into my professional life through research and writing. I regularly review and contribute to scientific articles, and to date I have eight publications in respected medical journals covering a range of children’s health and respiratory topics. Alongside this, I value community involvement and enjoy taking part in local events and activities.
