Dr Fayyaz Musa
Ophthalmology has been a passion of mine for over a decade. I feel privileged to work in a branch of medicine that has constantly innovated and evolved and now has an array of successful life-changing treatment options for patients. My training has been extensive and I have actively sought training in the most advanced, successful and safest forms of surgery.
I am one of a handful of surgeons who is fellowship trained in treating both corneal disorders and glaucoma. My practice of medicine has always had a firm emphasis on a patient centred approach. I value taking the time to ensure you are fully informed of your condition, of all the available treatment options and their relative risks and benefits. This is vital in making the correct choice for something as precious as your sight.
At the recent American Academy meeting (the most prestigious international meeting) my presentations were awarded a prize for best in category and another was selected as a highlight of the conference by MedScape (a major online medical news channel). I am a corneal transplantation (DMEK) course instructor at the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Conference. I have 12 publications in international journals and over 25 presentations at national and international meetings.
