Professional profile

I am a consultant physician who qualified at The Royal London Hospital in 1976. I won an ARC fellowship at the bone and joint research unit for a year and then joined the rheumatology registrar rotation at the Charing Cross/Westminster hospitals. I was appointed as a consultant at Leeds General Infirmary in 1989.

I have published extensively on polymyalgia rheumatica, late onset rheumatoid arthritis and Sjogrens.

In the last few years I have honorary secretary and an executor of the British Society for Rheumatology. I am a board member of the British Sjogrens' Society and President of the Ilkley-Otley branch of Arthritis Care.
