Specialises in
I am a Consultant Cardiologist and Interventional Cardiologist at Spire Norwich Hospital specialising in the investigation and treatment of coronary artery disease (angina) and blocked heart arteries, including coronary angiography and coronary angioplasty (PCI).
Chest pain can be worrying. While most chest pain is not caused by heart disease, it is important to rule out blocked heart arteries (coronary artery disease), which can lead to angina or heart attacks if untreated.
I regularly assess patients with chest pain or suspected coronary artery disease and can arrange rapid investigation, including coronary angiography where appropriate. When a significant narrowing is identified, angioplasty with stent treatment can often be performed during the same admission, avoiding the need for multiple procedures or hospital visits.
These minimally invasive procedures can relieve angina, improve quality of life and help prevent heart attacks.
Since becoming a Consultant Cardiologist in 2017, I have performed more than 7,000 coronary procedures, reflecting extensive experience in the investigation and treatment of coronary artery disease.
Alongside my clinical work, I am actively involved in international clinical trials as a Principal Investigator, the latest being a randomised trial comparing drug-coated balloons with drug-eluting stents for coronary artery disease. This work helps ensure that my patients benefit from the latest evidence-based cardiovascular treatments.
I am committed to providing clear explanations, compassionate care and personalised treatment plans so that every patient feels informed and confident about their heart health.
My goal is to provide safe, evidence‑based care for patients across Norwich, Norfolk, and the surrounding region, ensuring quick access to expert cardiac diagnosis and treatment at Spire Norwich Hospital.
I welcome referrals for patients with chest pain, suspected angina, or abnormal cardiac tests, and can arrange prompt investigation and treatment where required.
