I have been a Consultant Gynaecologist at Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust for the last 12 years. I am the lead for Gynaecological Oncology in my trust. My special interests comprise of menopause, minimal access surgery, gynaecological oncology and colposcopy.

I specialise in menopause care and am a member of the British Menopause Society. I am also an accredited minimally invasive surgeon including total laparoscopic hysterectomy, laparoscopic subtotal hysterectomy and surgery for endometriosis.

I have been responsible for setting up many services in the NHS such as post cancer menopause clinic, one-stop postmenopausal bleeding clinic, post-coital bleeding clinic and specialist vulval clinic. I introduced and established total laparoscopic hysterectomy and same day discharge, as well as laparoscopic sub total hysterectomy in my trust.

I am the only surgeon in the West Midlands to offer in-bag morcellation for laparoscopic subtotal hysterectomy in women with fibroid uterus. I was interviewed in the Daily Mail for this revolutionary new treatment that has significant patient benefits. I also received the Trust Innovation and Quality Improvement award in 2021 for my contribution towards services.

I am a national examiner for the MRCOG part 3 and BSCCP exams for accreditation in Colposcopy.

I have a keen interest in research and am currently PI for various studies including the Perioperative Quality Improvement Programme (PQIP) trial.

I have over 25 publications in peer reviewed journals including a Cochrane review and have contributed to various chapters in books.

My other interest include simulation training and I am a member of Faculty and facilitator for Basic and Intermediate Hysteroscopy courses for Health Education West Midlands.
