I am a consultant clinical oncologist specialising in the delivery of radiotherapy and other cancer drug treatments. My philosophy is to treat individuals by adopting a holistic approach and addressing their mental and physical wellbeing – strongly encouraging them to make lifestyle changes which will benefit their long-term health.
I trained and qualified as a consultant clinical oncologist at Turku University Hospital in Finland, following which I worked as a locum consultant in the same hospital and in the local hospice.
After two years' work experience in a Finnish pharmaceutical company (Orion-Farmos) I moved to the UK to take up the post of a Research Fellow in the Breast Unit and the Thyroid Unit. I worked as a locum consultant oncologist at the Royal Free Hospital in London, before being appointed to my current NHS post in 2003. Privately, I have treated radiotherapy patients at GenesisCare (formerly, Cancer Partners UK) since 2009.
I regularly attend international conferences and national meetings to keep abreast of the latest developments in cancer care. I am involved in various research projects in breast cancer and am also a member of many cancer networks.
I treat breast cancer (radiotherapy for both breast and secondaries, endocrine and infusional treatments). Skin cancer (radiotherapy), lifestyle and dietary advice in cancer care.
