MBChB MSc(SEM) MRCP(UK) FFSEM
I specialise in diagnosing and treating all types of musculoskeletal (MSK) and sports injuries, including trauma and repetitive stress. I provide expert care for patients at all levels of activity - from elite athletes to members of the general public.
I regularly see patients and athletes with muscle, tendon, ligament, and joint injuries, including meniscal injuries of the knee. These may be new, acute injuries or chronic, longstanding conditions such as tendinopathy and osteoarthritis, often related to physical activity.
I frequently manage patients with unexplained symptoms and medical problems related to exercise, including fatigue, underperformance, and breathing difficulties such as exercise-induced asthma, or issues arising from sport, such as concussion.
My focus is on early diagnosis and maximising conservative management, with tailored rehabilitation strategies and targeted interventions to help individuals return to their physical best as quickly and safely as possible.
My approach is holistic, addressing contributing factors such as lifestyle, which can impact recovery and increase the likelihood of recurrence. These can include diet, cardiovascular fitness, strength training, muscle endurance and other aspects including hormonal and genetic profiles.
I utilise advanced imaging techniques, including diagnostic ultrasound and MRI, to evaluate injuries and develop precise treatment plans. These may include shockwave therapy and image-guided injections (steroid, hyaluronic acid, and PRP).
In addition to my clinical work, I provide medical support for all England men's football teams - from youth to senior international levels - in my role as Pathway Lead Doctor at The Football Association, based at the National Football Centre at St George's Park.
My career to date has included prominent roles with professional football clubs, including Liverpool FC and Burnley FC, as well as Super League rugby clubs such as Huddersfield Giants. I currently serve as First Team Doctor for Huddersfield Town Association Football Club, a position I have held since 2022.
I have also provided medical expertise at major international events, including the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, British Athletics, international Taekwondo, and in supporting the British Cycling Team in the lead-up to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
As a Member of the Royal College of Physicians and a Fellow of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine, I am committed to ongoing professional development and to advancing musculoskeletal care through collaboration, research, and best practice.
My current NHS practice is based within an intermediate care setting as part of Manchester Community MSK Services.

I am married and became a father in 2024 to our adorable son Harvey. In my spare time I try to keep fit with a mixture of playing football, visiting the gym and exercise classes.
