Information on breast cancer genes and family history hosted by Mr Avi Agrawal Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon.

This is the first in a series of free online information talks around Breast Cancer detection and treatment hosted by our expert Consultant Breast Surgeons.

Do you have a history of breast cancer in your family and want to find out more about inherited genes and the risk factors?

It is important to understand how to assess your own family history to help determine the risk of getting breast cancer. This event hosted by Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon Mr Avi Agrawal will give you the information you need to make informed decisions about your health and any necessary treatment.

Mr Agrawal will discuss:

  • Calculating your risk
  • Eligibility for gene testing
  • The Family History Pathway
  • The symptoms and signs associated with breast cancer
  • Advantages and disadvantages of gene testing
  • Adapting lifestyle and medical options to reduce risk

There will also be a Q&A at the end of the talk.

The event will hosted via Zoom. You will be sent an event link to access the event when you register for the event.

Zoom is a video conferencing service for hosting live virtual meetings. Zoom can be used from a computer, mobile or tablet. You don’t need a Zoom account to attend a virtual patient event.
