My areas of interest are functional rehabilitation and working with individuals who are aiming to return to their sport or recreational activity.
I qualified with a BSc in Sports and Exercise Science in 2007 after previously working in financial services. I was a fitness instructor for three years before joining Spire full-time in 2012. Working in the health and fitness industry I saw the need for functional training and tailoring programmes to individual needs, while addressing muscles imbalances and movement deficiencies to help improve function and decrease risk of injury. To further my knowledge in this area I qualified as a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) in 2013 with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). This has enhanced my skills working within the back and neck clinic.
Having been a keen runner and squash player my main interest is still keeping fit, but by resistance and cardiovascular training in the gym. I also enjoy long walks with my husband.
