Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mrs Lucy Swain at Spire include:
I began working for the NHS as a Speech and Language Therapist in 1990. I became a clinical specialist in voice disorders after completing an internship with the SLT and ENT Department at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham in 1994. In 2013 I set up my independent practice, working primarily with patients who have voice, speech or swallowing disorders. I fulfilled the role of lecturer in voice pathology at Leeds Metropolitan University from 2013-2015.
I began training in nutritional medicine in 2008 and qualified as a registered nutritional therapy practitioner in 2014. In 2017 I completed a MSc in Personalised Nutrition - a programme which enables a more individualised approach to the nutritional management of patients with chronic disease. I have a special interest in the treatment of reflux-related voice disorders through dietary management. I have previously been involved in student mentoring in my role as Academic Tutor for the UK College of Nutrition and Health in London.
Special clinical interests: Voice disorders, Speech disorders, Nutrition and Reflux management.
