I began working for the NHS as a Speech and Language Therapist in 1990. I became a clinical specialist in voice disorders after completing an internship with the SLT and ENT Department at Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham in 1994. In 2013 I set up my independent practice, working primarily with patients who have voice, speech or swallowing disorders. I fulfilled the role of lecturer in voice pathology at Leeds Metropolitan University from 2013-2015.
I began my training in Nutrition in 2008 and completed a Masters Degree in Personalised Nutrition in 2017, a programme which enables a more individualised approach to the nutritional management of patients with chronic disease. Following this, in 2020 I became a certified practitioner in Lifestyle Medicine with the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine.
