Mrs Leanne Nicholson

Speech & Language Therapist

RCSLT HCPC

Specialises in

I am a highly-specialist Speech and Language Therapist working in a nationally-respected NHS department as well as in independent practice. I have worked in a number of specialist centres throughout London and Manchester.

My areas of interest are assessment, management and rehabilitation of swallowing difficulties and acquired communication problems, tracheostomy, low-awareness states, and instrumental assessments such as FEES (endoscopic swallow assessment) and Videofluoroscopy (assessment of swallowing via x-ray).

People I work with typically have difficulties due to stroke, brain injury, progressive neurological conditions, cancer, respiratory conditions or are post surgery.

I always ensure my intervention is person specific and wholly relevant. I am open and clear about expected treatment outcomes. I believe a combination of traditional approaches and cutting-edge developments lead to the best possible care. I strive to deliver the best of care to everyone I work with.
