I am a consultant general, colorectal and laparoscopic surgeon and have my private practice at Spire Hartswood Hospital, Brentwood, Essex. I first qualified in India and have worked in the NHS since 1999. I trained at many premier institutions including King's College Hospital, Royal London Hospital, St Bartholomew's Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto.
I offer a personal and professional service specialising in gastroscopy and colonoscopy, surgery on the bowel, surgery for hernia, gallbladder surgery, surgery for inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer, emergency abdominal surgery and minimal access or laparoscopic surgery.
I consult at Spire Hartswood Hospital and Barking, Havering, Redbridge University NHS Trust where I am also Lead for Enhanced Recovery, Lead for Education and Training for General Surgery at Queen's Hospital and a trainer for foundation, core, undergraduate and higher surgical students.
I received my first award in Biochemical Research in 1994 and since then I have seen many achievements; Best Poster Prize at the EACP meeting, Geneva (2004), Laparoscopic Bursary (Stryker) 2010, visiting Fellowship to Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto (2011), Adrian Turner Prize (2012) and most recently a runner up Hospital Hero (2012), having been nominated by a patient.

I live in London with my wife and two children. I enjoy cooking Indian and Italian food and love long walks in Epping Forest. I am keen on photography and enjoy photographing and developing black and white portraits, though I am now embracing digital technology.
