Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Jeremy Ridge at Spire include:
I am a general orthopaedic and trauma surgeon with an all round interest in all aspects of orthopaedic surgery. I have been practising at Consultant Level since 1993. Initially I undertook Foot, Shoulder and Spinal Surgery, but advances in these disciplines dictated that separate appointments should be made to cater for the increase in demand. I was proud to be at the cutting edge of all this years ago.
With seniority, I have decided to narrow the scope of my activities and concentrate on core activities of hip replacement.
I contribute to the National Joint Registry every joint replacement I perform and sit well in the expected range of good outcomes. I have higher than average volumes over many, many years and use the same hip replacement system since the early 1990s.
I was a founding committee member of the British Orthopaedic Directors Society which was dedicated to ensuring that practices were similar in every part of the UK and that local management problems did not impinge on individual Orthopaedic departments. We were entrusted by the Department of Health to report and problems with new policies such as the Musculoskeletal Framework Document and the 18 week waiting list target. I still correspond with this group.
