DPhil FRCS(Gen Surg)
I was appointed as a consultant laparoscopic general and colorectal surgeon in 2020 at the Cambridge University Hospitals Trust. I have a large colonoscopy and colorectal cancer practice. My sub-specialist interest is in robotic surgery for cancer/inflammatory bowel disease/pelvic floor disorders. Over 60% of all my major/complex surgery is performed minimally invasively.
I routinely treat abdominal (inguinal, umbilical) hernias and proctological conditions such as haemorrhoids (THD), fistula (VAAFT), fissure (Botox®) and pilonidal sinus (EPSiT)
I trained at the University of Liverpool graduating in 2006. I did basic surgical training in Merseyside. I completed my Doctorate in Philosophy (DPhil) at the University of Oxford undertaking laboratory based research into pelvic floor dysfunction. My higher surgical training was undertaken in London and Oxford with an international robotic surgery fellowship in South Korea before my substantive appointment in Cambridge.
