I am a Consultant Robotic General and Colorectal Surgeon at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital and Cambridge University Hospitals, treating patients across Cambridge and the wider East of England. I also serve as Clinical Lead for Endoscopy at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital.
I specialise in the diagnosis and treatment of bowel and colorectal conditions, using advanced minimally invasive techniques to deliver safe, effective and personalised care.
My sub-specialist interest is in robotic-assisted surgery for bowel cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, bowel cancer screening and pelvic floor disorders. Over 90% of all my major/complex surgery is performed minimally invasively. I also run a high-volume colonoscopy practice and am accredited in the UK Bowel Cancer Screening Programme, performing both diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy to support early detection and treatment of bowel disease.
I routinely treat abdominal (inguinal, umbilical) hernias and proctological conditions such as haemorrhoids (THD), fistula (VAAFT), fissure (Botox®) and pilonidal sinus (EPSiT)
I completed my Doctorate in Philosophy (DPhil) at the University of Oxford undertaking laboratory based research into pelvic floor dysfunction. My higher surgical training was undertaken in London and Oxford with an international robotic surgery fellowship in South Korea before my substantive appointment in Cambridge.
