Specialises in

I trained in Liverpool, Oxford, London and South Korea before being appointed to Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge University Hospitals Trust as a Consultant Surgeon in 2020. I completed my Doctorate in Philosophy (DPhil) at the University of Oxford and am one of only a few surgeons in the world to undertake laboratory based research into causes of pelvic floor disorders.

I routinely treat patients with bowel disorders of all types eg rectal bleeding, a change in bowel habit, anal symptoms, abdominal pain or new lump. I am an expert in minimally invasive techniques (eg keyhole/laparoscopy, robot-assisted, single-port) and uses the latest innovative modalities in diagnosis and treatment of surgical conditions. I am fully JAG accredited in upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy.

My clinical interests are in colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, pelvic floor disorders, diverticular disease, abdominal/groin hernias, haemorrhoids, pilonidal sinus, anal fistula and fissure. I regularly perform gastroscopy and colonoscopy removing polyps if found.

I'm a member of Cambridge Bowel Clinic which allows me to offer a multidisciplinary approach to patient care to achieve the best outcomes.

I will ask you about your symptoms, perform an examination if appropriate and then arrange any necessary tests before making recommendations about treatment always prioritising compassion and holistic care.
