Mr Brian Bisase is a Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon at Spire Gatwick Park Hospital. He graduated in dentistry and medicine from the University of London, where he was awarded the Newland Pedley Medal and Scholarship. After completing his surgical training, Mr Bisase undertook higher training in oral and maxillofacial surgery over a five year period, working across the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford, Guys and Kings College Hospitals in London, and here at QVH.

He was awarded the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Gold Medal for his top performance in the maxillofacial surgery FRCS examination. He undertook further specialist training in Toronto, Canada and at the Royal Marsden Hospital (Fellowship) where he developed experience in thyroid, anterior skull base and sarcoma surgery, laryngo-pharyngeal reconstruction and advanced reconstruction of the complex defect.

In addition to his clinical work, he devotes time to research (Lead for H&N research at QVH) and has presented his own clinical research worldwide, most of which is published in peer reviewed journals. He is the Principal Investigator for two major national portfolio multi centre trials and co investigator in one. He also has a special interest in surgical outcomes and is lead for H&N surgery outcomes at QVH. He is devoted to teaching and professional training in his NHS work and is on the team for surgical safety (eg NPSA 5) strategies too.

Special Clinical Interests: Head and neck cancer ablation, reconstruction, including micro-vascular surgery, facial skin cancer removal, removal of facial skin lesions, assessment and removal of lumps of the salivary glands, assessment and removal of lumps in the neck, assessment and surgical management of head and neck cancers (ablation and reconstruction). Investigation, including biopsy of oral or perioral lesions, treatment of oral ulcers and other mucosal conditions. Pre prosthetic surgery, sinus lifts and bone grafting, removal of wisdom teeth, reconstruction after trauma (head and neck), reconstruction and correction of scars (head and neck), management of Temporomandibular joint problems (TMJ).
