I am a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgeries. My clinical and research interests centre on lower limb reconstruction, including revision arthroplasty and lower limb arthroscopy and trauma surgery.
My training has a wide breadth of clinical experience focusing upon these specialties and I undertook a two year fellowship (2010–2012) at University of Toronto teaching hospitals, attending Mount Sinai Hospital and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
As an Honorary Reader at Brighton & Sussex Medical School I am regularly involved in education and research, including lectures, clinical, cadaveric and theatre-based teaching. In addition, I developed the first web-based resources for orthopaedic research and education at Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals.
With an extensive and ongoing research portfolio covering basic science and clinical practice, I currently have over 70 publications, seven book chapters and over 80 presentations, including several at the British Orthopaedic Association and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, with number awarded prizes. In addition, I continue to collaborate with various university departments and orthopaedic companies.
I am also a reviewer for the following journals: Bone & Joint Journal (formerly JBJS Br), JBJS Am, Journal of Arthroplasty & Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research (CORR).
