Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Azad Najmaldin at Spire include:
I received higher surgical training in Southampton and Melbourne, and have been a consultant paediatric surgeon and urologist at Leeds teaching hospitals and Spire Leeds Hospital since 1992.
I have a comprehensive practical experience in a wide range of children’s surgical and urological conditions. I introduced and popularised minimally invasive surgery in children in the UK and beyond.
I also introduced or modified several techniques in surgery and urology. I am regularly invited to speak to learning groups and societies (112) and I'm a visiting surgeon and mentor to national and international surgical institutions (15). In addition, I regularly organise, direct and teach at national and international surgical workshops (104). I was an examiner for the specialist examination (11 years) and an executive or committee member for learning societies and colleges.
I have published over 245 journal articles, abstracts, training documents, newspaper articles, TV documentaries, online lectures, CDs and book chapters. I have also edited three surgical books and regularly review for scientific journals.
