Professional profile

I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in complex trauma and foot and ankle reconstruction and have over 25 years experience. I qualified from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine in 1990.

I am currently Head of Service for Trauma and Orthopaedics at the Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham, one of the busiest trauma centres in the UK. Prior to this, I was responsible for training junior doctors at the hospital and was appointed College Tutor in Surgery.

I continue to deliver a number of teaching programmes and remain interested and engaged in leadership and management in the care of patients with complex musculoskeletal injuries and conditions.

My current clinical practice is divided between trauma orthopaedics and elective foot surgery. In addition, I run tertiary referral clinics for the management of complex foot and ankle disorders and reconstruction of lower extremity fractures.

I currently hold the following posts; Head of Service - Department of Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery, Nottingham University Hospitals, NHS Trust; Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon - Nottingham University Hospitals, NHS Trust; Board Member Elective Othopaedic Board -Nottingham University Hospitals, NHS Trust; Board Member Major Trauma Board - Nottingham University Hospitals, NHS Trust.
