Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Advait Gandhe at Spire include:
My specialist interests are hip and knee conditions with a repertoire that includes arthroscopic, total and unicompartmental replacement and revision surgery. I have a particular interest in the evolution of both cemented and uncemented hip replacements.
I have experience in the use of a variety of different implants. Joint replacement surgery has been inundated with new technologies and techniques, which can leave many individuals overwhelmed as to the best choice. It is my philosophy that the individual need of the patient along with a sound evidence base should determine their implant choice.
I have had undergraduate training at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals, basic surgical training at St George's Hospital and specialist orthopaedic training in Oxford where I trained under some of the greatest authorities in his field.
I have undergone two fellowships in lower limb arthroplasty surgery and 17 months training at the John Radcliffe Trauma Centre in Oxford.
I was nominated for Portsmouth Hospital Doctor of the Year 2011, and was awarded Tutor of the Year by the Wessex regional trainees in 2011.
