Professional profile
I graduated from the University of Leicester in 1992. I completed specialist training in Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery in 2006 within Plastic Surgery Units based in London and the South East. After a period of research into the cosmetic role of lasers I gained an MD by University College London in 2001. Following this I underwent a fellowship in microsurgical techniques for reconstruction.
I am a part of the bariatric team which specialises in the surgical removal of excess skin following massive weight loss (http://www.totalweightsolutions.com/index.php/our-team/mr-adam-topping.html).
I attend courses and training programmes in both the USA & UK to maintain both my skill base and current best-practice in the field of cosmetic surgery.
I have appeared twice in Channel 4 programme ‘Embarrassing Bodies’ in 2008 and 2009 where I performed breast reduction surgery. I have also been featured on the BBC “Fight for Life” programme (2007) which documented reconstruction of an open fracture of the leg. In 2009 I have also been featured in ‘At Home’ with Nicky Hambleton-Jones "The Cosmetic Surgery Issue" 2009. This issue is about transforming your life and improving your look with cosmetic surgery. This magazine presents me in the "essential guide to choosing the best consultant for your surgery" section, page 159.
In addition to reconstructive surgery, I am able to offer advice and treatment on all aspects of cosmetic surgery, including procedures such as face lifts, rhinoplasty (nose), eyelid surgery, breast augmentation & reduction surgery, abdominoplasty (tummy tucks) & liposuction. My website aims to fully inform the patient about such procedures.
