Miss Victoria Rose
Consultant Plastic Surgeon
MBBS, MRCS, FRCS (Plast)
I am a British-trained, fully accredited consultant plastic surgeon working at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital and King's College Hospital, London. I started my training in plastic surgery in 1998 and worked in a variety of London plastic surgery units as well as the prestigious Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead and the St Andrew's Centre in Chelmsford. During my training I spent time at the MD Anderson in Dallas and Akademikliniken in Stockholm, and was a microsurgical fellow in Taiwan for 15 months.
I obtained my certificate for completion of specialist surgical training in plastic surgery in 2007 and was then appointed as an NHS consultant in a London teaching hospital. In 2009 I moved to Manchester to work at the Nightingale Centre at Wythenshawe Hospital, which is one of the largest breast cancer units in the country. In April 2013 I moved back to London to take the post of Lead for Plastic Surgery Trauma Reconstruction at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.
My main area of expertise is complex breast reconstruction. My other clinical areas of interest are microsurgical breast reconstruction, complex breast reconstruction, lower limb trauma reconstruction and gynaecological reconstruction, which complements my cosmetic practice.
I am on the General Medical Council's specialist register for plastic surgery and I am a member of the British Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.
I am actively involved in plastic surgery training and have represented both the London and North West Deaneries. In addition to this, I am also an undergraduate tutor for medical students at King's College Hospital.
I enjoy scientific research in plastic surgery and have presented at multiple national and international meetings. I am also widely published in scientific journals and surgical textbooks.
