Miss Shirin Irani

As a consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology for over 23 years, I carry over 35 years of experience. My practice sees me cater to hundreds of patients annually within the private sector.

My areas of interest encompass a spectrum of conditions such as HRT and menopause, period problems, cervical screening, well woman checks, and pelvic pain. Regardless of their life stage, I aim to offer comprehensive care to women dealing with heavy periods or irregular bleeding, with an unwavering commitment to the highest standard of care.

Following qualification in 1985, my journey led me to Kiel, Germany, where I specialised in minimal access surgery. Latterly have devoted much of my career to adolescent gynaecology and menopause. General gynaecology forms the backbone of my expertise, with a special focus on treating women dealing with fibroids and menstrual issues.

As an accredited colposcopist, I run special clinics and possess expertise in cervical screening procedures including cervical smears, colposcopy, and treatment. A variety of conditions including adolescent and paediatric gynaecology, menorrhagia, and menopause-related issues are managed by me often for women who self refer.

I run a menopause clinic, catering to local and international patients. My clinical research contributions include co-investigation in trials focusing on fibroids, heavy bleeding, and pelvic pain.

Besides clinical practice, I am engaged in medical education, contributing to the learning of doctors, students, and associates locally and globally. My professional affiliations include the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCIG) , and am an accredited / registered specialist with British Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology(BSCCP), and the The British Menopause Society (BMS).
