Specialises in
I am a Consultant in General Adult and Old Age Psychiatry with over 15 years of experience. I specialised in psychiatry in London and have a PhD in Mental Health Sciences from University College London.
I help adults make the most of their long term health by preventing, identifying and treating mental health disorders. Mental health problems in over 50s are often partly due to medical, social, nutritional and lifestyle problems. I therefore work closely with my patients and a specialist team at the Spire London East Hospital to identify and manage any such problems that may hinder someone from achieving their optimal health status.
The comprehensive assessment and treatment services that I offer are based on my clinical and research experience of working with people who develop serious mental health disorders in later life. These disorders are often partly due to risk factors like hypertension, obesity, inactivity, poor nutrition and smoking, and can be treated and managed to improve the overall outcome.
I assess and help children and adults with attention problems including ADHD. I provide neurofeedback training for attention problems.
My research interests are in preventing, identifying and treating cognitive problems such as dementia and ADHD.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Dr Thomas Dannhauser at Spire include:
