I am a Consultant Rheumatologist with a particular interest in the early diagnosis and management of inflammatory arthritis, including rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis. I have broad experience across all aspects of rheumatology, as well as managing acute medical patients.
In my clinical practice, I assess and treat a wide range of rheumatological conditions. These include early inflammatory arthritis, osteoarthritis and other degenerative joint conditions, crystal arthropathies such as gout, polymyalgia rheumatica and giant cell arteritis, ankylosing spondylitis, vasculitis, lupus and other connective tissue diseases. I also manage autoimmune inflammatory conditions, soft tissue and musculoskeletal disorders, and regularly perform joint and soft tissue injections to help control pain and inflammation.
I undertook my basic and postgraduate medical training in Sri Lanka before being awarded Royal College of Physicians (UK) sponsorship for higher specialist training in the United Kingdom. I subsequently completed specialist training in General Medicine and Rheumatology in the North West of England, gaining comprehensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient care.
