Professional profile

I am a competent and experienced general Neurologist. My undergraduate medicine (MBBS) was in India under a scholarship awarded by the government. Following this, my specialist postgraduate medical training was in Southampton, Birmingham, Leeds and Hull. I was awarded MRCP(UK) by the Royal College of Physicians. My Neurology training in was in Leeds, Wakefield and Hull during which time I was awarded a specialty certificate in neurology - MRCP(UK)(Neurology) and subsequently a completion certification in neurology (CCT).

After my neurology training, I went on to undertake research into headache disorders at King's College London. I was awarded The Migraine Trust Clinical Training Fellowship which is an award given to outstanding neurologists to pursue migraine research. My research looked into various aspects and phases of migraine using a novel MRI technique called arterial spin labelled (ASL) MRI. For my research work, I was awarded a Doctorate in Clinical Neuroscience by King's College London.

I am experienced in managing various neurological disorders and keep myself up-to-date with the latest knowledge, including being aware of the recent trends in neurology. I have good experience using Botox for chronic migraine, greater occipital nerve blocks, non-invasive vagal nerve stimulation, transcranial magnetic stimulation.

It is important to me to be a very good listener, giving patients adequate time to explain their symptoms so that a thorough assessment can be made. In many challenging neurological cases I have made accurate diagnosis.
