I am a consultant in sports and exercise medicine at Spire Leeds Hospital. I specialise in tendon problems, rehabilitation and exercise therapy, musculoskeletal ultrasound and injection therapy, and teach these disciplines at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
I graduated in medicine in 2007 at the University of Manchester and have since gained specialist qualifications in sport and exercise medicine and musculoskeletal ultrasound at the University of Bath and University of Bournemouth.
I have worked in elite sport since 2007 in the Rugby League Super League, Premiership Rugby Union, Premiership Football and UK Athletics. I am the current lead doctor for England Rugby League and England Partially Sighted Futsal. I was also lucky enough to be the field of play team leader at the London 2012 Olympic Games for the football held at St James’ Park, Newcastle.
I am also a reviewer for the British Medical Journal (BMJ) for sport and exercise medicine and try my best to practice what I preach!

Personal profile
I am keen sportsman and regularly keep fit by going to the gym, mountain biking, rock climbing and playing squash. I also enjoy playing the guitar, piano and writing music. I have a 5 year old son who is my world and so far he’s taking after his daddy with musical interests and hobbies.
