I have over 25 years of clinical neurology experience and subspecialty training in Neurophysiology, I am able to assess all common, and uncommon, neurological problems from initial consultation, to diagnosis and treatment. My clinical interests include; epilepsy, headache, memory disorders, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, muscle disease, neuropathy, Parkinson’s disease.
I trained in neurology at the National Hospital, Queen Square and Guy's Hospital, London. My PhD was awarded by the University of London following research on the immunogenetics of multiple sclerosis at the Institute of Neurology, Queen Square. I have been a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians since 1996 and I was appointed as a Consultant Neurologist and Senior Lecturer in Neurology at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and the Manor Hospital in Walsall in 1990.
I retired from NHS practice in August 2015. However, I have maintained his links with the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. I have continued to attend weekly meetings at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where my colleagues (neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists and specialist nurses) discuss complex cases. These weekly meetings are also an important element in the continuing in-service training which is vital and mandatory for all practicing physicians.
