Professor Kuntal Patel
MS (Orth), MRCS (Ed), Dip SEM (GB & I), FRCS (Tr&Orth), MSc (Sports Injuries) and MSc (Health Science and Practice)
I completed my specialist registrar rotation in trauma and orthopaedics with the North Western Deanery, rotating through various hospitals in Preston, Chorley, Bolton, Stockport, Blackburn, Burnley and Wrightington. I obtained fellowship experience as a lower limb arthroplasty fellow in one of the most prestigious orthopaedic hospitals in the country (Wrightington Hospital). Wrightington Hospital is widely regarded as a centre of excellence for orthopaedic surgery.
The fellowship and previous training has given me excellent experience in a wide range of hip and knee surgery including complex revision arthroplasty and knee replacement. I have special interest in young adult hip problems, problematic metal on metal hip replacements and management of sports injuries.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Professor Kuntal Patel at Spire include:
I enjoy swimming, fell walking, cricket and reading. Along with my wife, who is training to be a GP, we enjoy travelling. I also like cooking and hope that the meals are equally as enjoyable for the diners.
