Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Mr Nikhil Pradhan appears in the Daily Mail

14 July 2014

Mr Nikhil Pradhan, one of Spire Cheshire Hospital's consultant orthopaedic surgeons, was quoted in the Daily Mail's article entitled 'Motion sensor that helps align new joints more accurately so knee replacements last longer'.

The article looks at knee replacement surgery and how it could become more accurate and less painful, due to a new technology called iASSIST which uses movement sensors to align the new joint more accurately.

Mr Pradhan said "Studies from the US have shown that iASSIST gives a straight joint in 95% of patients and it can work for any patient. We know that knee replacements placed in the correct alignment last longer and function better."
