Building work has begun at the site of the new Spire Bushey Diagnostic Centre, located on Centennial Park, Elstree. The current building will be completely remodelled to create a state of the art outpatient and diagnostic centre and forms part of the two-phase £23 million investment strategy for Spire Bushey Hospital.
To mark the momentous day, The Mayor of Hertsmere, Pete Rutledge, joined Hospital Director Lisa Trybus to ‘break the ground’ at the current site and review the exciting plans for redevelopment.
The two-storey centre will have:
- 14 purpose designed consulting rooms
- associated treatment rooms
- outpatient diagnostic clinics
- the latest imaging technologies - including a high specification MRI scanner to compliment the one on the main hospital site.
Lisa Trybus, Hospital Director, said: “The new diagnostic centre will offer technologically advanced services and will ensure Spire Healthcare remains at the forefront of the private healthcare industry, as well as position our hospital as a leading provider of private medical care in our region.
The centre is planned to open in November this year, 35 years after the main hospital site opened back in 1982.
