I trained at King's College London and completed my specialist training in both general medicine and rheumatology in the North Thames region. I am actively involved both in undergraduate and postgraduate training, education and clinical research.

I am the head for biological services and research and Chief / Principal Investigator for a large number of clinical trials investigating new biological treatments for autoimmune rheumatic disorders including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and Ankylosing Spondylitis. I was recently awarded two National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) awards, the most prestigious being the NIHR at 10, awarded to only five researchers nationally.

In 2009 I was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of Clinical Sciences at St Matthews University and in January 2019, I was awarded the position of Associate UK Dean of St Matthews University. In 2018, I was awarded the Title of Honorary Reader in Investigational Clinical Rheumatology at the William Harvey Research Institute, University of London. My other academic interest includes Sports Medicine. I am a member of The Assessment of SpondyloArthritis International Society (ASAS).

I am actively involved in both rheumatology and acute medicine and have been awarded the BSR Best Practice award for Best Emerging Practice.
