Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Michael Mokawem at Spire include:
I specialise exclusively in spinal surgery with a special interest in minimally invasive surgery when appropriate. I treat back pain, sciatica, disc problems, deformity and fractures.
I specialise in all aspects of spinal surgery with a particular interest in complex adult and paediatric spinal surgery. I advise on non operative and operative management, allowing patients to make fully informed decisions. I use minimally invasive techniques, computer navigated surgery and traditional open techniques.
I completed two prestigious spinal surgery fellowships: The National Spine Fellowship at Leeds Teaching Hospitals as well as a Minimally Invasive and Complex Spine Surgery Fellowship at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore. These fellowships covered the whole spectrum of spinal surgery.
I am passionate about teaching and am a faculty member for the Royal College of Surgeons of England Advanced Trauma Life Support courses.
