Professional profile

Mr Park was appointed as a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospital, Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust in 2014. He specialises in surgery of the foot and ankle. Mr Park qualified in 2001 from the University of Auckland, New Zealand and undertook his postgraduate orthopaedic surgical training on the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore rotation. He is fellowship-trained in foot and ankle surgery, and underwent specialist fellowship training at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Frimley Park hospital, and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore. He is also fellowship-trained in orthopaedic trauma having trained at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, the Major Trauma Centre for Sussex. Mr Park was awarded the British Orthopaedic Association travelling fellowship award in 2012 and 2013, and the AO Fellowship in 2013.

Mr Park has a special interest in the management of stubborn heel pain e.g. plantar fasciitis and Achilles problems, and sports injuries affecting the foot and ankle. He manages the entire spectrum of foot and ankle conditions including bunions, toe deformities, arthritis, tendon problems and diabetic feet.

Having painful feet affects everything we do, so Mr Park takes a special care and attention to understand every patient's condition in the out-patient clinic. He believes in putting patients at ease to enable them to make decisions about their care, and supporting them every step of their journey.

Mr Park has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals on the subject of orthopaedic surgery and has also authored textbook chapters in orthopaedics. he is a reviewer for the Bone and Joint Journal and the Foot and Ankle Surgery Journal. He is a committed teacher and trainer and is faculty on various postgraduate orthopaedic courses.

Mr Park manages the entire spectrum of foot and ankle conditions including bunions, toe deformities, arthritis of the foot and ankle, tendon problems, sports injuries of the foot and ankle and management of diabetic foot problems. He has a special interested in the management of stubborn heel pain eg plantar fasciitis and Achilles problems.

Mr Park is the clinical lead for fracture clinic redesign at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals, Royal Free London. Mr Park is also the fellowship coordinator for the foot and ankle fellowship at the Royal Free Hospital in London.

Research interests: Mr Park is involved in translational science research projects focusing on clinical conditions affecting the foot and ankle with the University of Surrey and the Institute of Orthopaedics, University College London.
