I am a Consultant Medical Oncologist at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre with over 10 years’ experience, specialising in the management of early and advanced breast cancer. I am the Clinical Lead for breast cancer at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, advising to local and national forums on improving survival, patient experience, and recruitment to clinical trials through innovative models of breast cancer care.
I am an active clinical researcher within the Breast Cancer Trials Unit at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre and have published widely in peer-reviewed journals. I am a principal investigator on a range of phase II and III clinical trials within the local and national breast cancer trial portfolio.
I am co-chair of the systemic anti-cancer treatment (SACT) committee at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, overseeing the governance and safety of anti-cancer treatments. This role has been instrumental in developing an award-winning novel patient administration programme, which has national interest.
I have a particular interest in cancer survivorship and has led on follow up strategies in conjunction with the National Cancer Survivorship Initiative and Macmillan.
I studied medicine at University College London Medical School, graduating with a first class honours BSc degree in Anatomy and Developmental Biology in 1993, followed by MBBS degrees in 1996. In 2007, I achieved an MD from University of London, in conjunction with The Anthony Nolan Trust, researching in the field of tumour immunology.
