Sustaining an injury can prevent you from doing the things you love, whether it is playing golf, cricket or tennis, swimming, cycling and running or simply spending time in the garden. We understand you want to get back in action as soon as possible.
At Spire Nottingham Hospital we have a physiotherapy team determined to get you back to fitness as quickly as possible with the minimum of fuss.
“It doesn’t matter what your goal is, whether it’s to participate in sport or be able to do your hobbies pain free, we treat every patient as an individual. Everyone is different, so irrespective of age, fitness or ability we can assess your injury and devise a rehabilitation programme that is tailor-made to suit you. We make it our job to find the right treatment option for you” said Carl Butler, Head of Physiotherapy at Spire Nottingham Hospital.
The majority of injuries can be treated without surgery but in cases that do require further diagnosis and treatment, our physios have fast access to a range of scans such as MRI, Ultrasound, CT and X-rays. They can also make a speedy referral to one of the hospital’s orthopaedic consultants or sports physicians.
The physio team has specialist expertise and facilities and use the very latest treatment and rehabilitation techniques and methods. As well as treating the immediate problem the physios will also look for underlying causes of the injury with the view to taking action that will prevent the problem reoccurring in the future.
Carl said: “We can offer sports specific services, such as triathlon clinics, using knowledge of cycling, running and swimming injuries to help screen for and treat related injuries. Golf fit and ski fit clinics are other services we can offer. The team has vast experience across most sports, including football, rugby, hockey and basketball.”
“As the French novelist Antoine de Saint-Exupery said, a goal without a plan is just a wish.”
