19 February 2019
Spire Nottingham Hospital is pleased to announce their hospital-nominated charity for 2019 – Healing Little Hearts.
Every year 1.4M children across the world are born with Congenital Heart Disease. Of those, 1M are born in the developing world and unfortunately, 90% will never receive the corrective heart surgery they need.
Healing Little Hearts is a local charity founded in 2007 and their mission is to ensure that EVERY baby or child has the chance to live by providing access to vital heart surgery on the poorest babies and children in India. Over 1500 operations have been performed in over 11 years.
Spire Nottingham Hospital has chosen to support Healing Little Hearts in 2019 and will raise money throughout the year with a variety of sporting challenges, socials and events.
Hospital Director, Andy Davey says, "We are really pleased to support such a good cause for 2019. Having a hospital nominated charity each year is a great way for our staff to get involved in different fundraising activities and raise money for good causes. I have no doubt that our staff will step up to the challenge and raise valuable funds for Healing Little Hearts.”
