Patient satisfaction survey 2013 results

The 2013 patient satisfaction survey results are out and it's official...98% of patients rate Spire Edinburgh Hospitals as ‘excellent’, ‘very good’ or ‘good’. Not only that, 97% of the people who were treated here before would definitely or were likely to recommend us in the future.

Making sure our patients are well looked after is our top priority. Every year, Spire Healthcare carries out an independent survey to find out how patients think we’re performing. In 2013 20,772 patients who had attended one of the 37 Spire Healthcare hospitals between 1st June and 31st August 2013 were randomly selected, contacted by post and asked to complete a survey.

This is what patients from Spire Edinburgh Hospital told us:

100% said the cleanliness of the hospital was excellent, very good or quite good

99% agree they had confidence and trust in the nurses looking after them

99% said the staff at the hospital did everything they could to help control their pain

98% agree staff at this hospital really went out of their way to make a difference to their stay

98% agree they felt reassured and safe throughout their experience

98% said the quality of their room was excellent, very good and quite good

98% said the quality of food was excellent, very good and quite good

97% said the care and attention from their consultant was excellent, very good and quite good

97% agree they were treated with compassion and respect

Hospital Director Andrew Eadsforth said, 'We're delighted by the results of our patient satisfaction survey and I'd like to thank all of our patients who took time to complete it. I'd like to remind all of our patients that it's never too late to provide feedback. Our patient liaison officer, Norma is always on hand to hear about any comments or suggestions you may have for the hospital. My staff work incredibly hard to provide the highlest level of care to our patients and I'd like to thank them for continuing to make our patients their top priority.'
