Dr Subramaniam Ramakrishnan has just been named Gastroenterologist of the Year in the prestigious GHP (Global Health and Pharma) 2019 Private Healthcare Awards.
He won the award for the whole of the North region and the decision was made after a period of online voting following Dr Ramakrishnan’s initial nomination.
The awards, which recognise all levels and all aspects of the healthcare and pharmaceutical world, are promoted in the GHP’s magazine which has 260,000 readers.
Dr Ramakrishnan, who is also lead for research in gastroenterology for the Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said he was delighted to receive the award which he said highlighted some of the great work being done in the Cheshire region.
At Spire Cheshire, Hospital Director Andrew Johnson said: “Once again we are proud to see that one of our consultants is held in such a high regard in their field. Dr Ramakrishnan is an integral part of our gastroenterology and endoscopy service and was instrumental in helping us to achieve our JAG reaccreditation in November 2018, this shows that the unit has achieved the high standards required to ensure it provides the highest quality patient care".
