I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist ,and I have worked in the NHS for over 35years, much of this has been as clinical lead in a large department of psychological medicine in Greater Manchester.

I work within the professional and ethical standards of the HSPC and the British Psychological Society, the latter of which I am an associate fellow.

I have worked as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist both in London at the Charring Cross Hospital, and in Greater Manchester at the Salford Royal Trust.

During a session I will draw on my 35 years of experience using as a main focus cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), but employing a range of disciplines in my broad practice including ACT, and mindfulness.

The people with whom I work may have a physical illness which is difficult to cope with. I offer a safe place to explore feelings, and offer a therapeutic input appropriate to each individual. My clinical practice extends to people who experience:

• Stress

• Anxiety

• Depression

• Low self-esteem

• Conflict

• Trauma

I have an additional qualification working with people ,and eating disorders and disordered eating
Weight reducing drugs such as ozempic and mounjaro may help you to lose weight, but I can help you maintain the loss. CBT in weight management is known to be key, to help control appetite and stop you eating your emotions.

I also have a specialist masters in child clinical psychology.

By providing a safe place for 11 - 18 year olds, a clinical psychologist can assist a young person to navigate challenges such as anxiety and depression using the genra of therapy appropriate to the presenting problem and the individual. For example CBT focussed psychotherapy, mindfulness.

Creating a nurturing environment is imperative to allow children and teenagers to express their emotional fears and doubts.

Providing coping strategies to adapt to chronic illness is a tool offered by a clinical psychologist. Together with offering strategies to help address behavioural issues improves self esteem and can promote adaptive behaviour.

The mind and body are intrinsically linked. How you feel about yourself is as much about your mental wellbeing as being physically well.
