I have been a consultant surgeon for over 16 years, specialising in laparoscopic and colorectal surgery, and I enjoy the full range of general and coloproctological surgical procedures. I have just stepped down as the lead for surgery at Warrington and Halton Hospital, after six and a half years in the post, to return to full time clinical duties.
I am heavily involved in surgical training, and have been nominated for surgical trainer of the year for the Mersey region on a number of occasions. I have presented papers at national and international meetings and published in several journals.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Mark Tighe at Spire include:
Anterior resection, colorectal surgery, polypectomy, transanal haemorrhoid, dearterialisation (THD), rectal examination under anaesthetic (EUA), stapled haemorrhoidopexy, colorectal screening, rectal prolapse repair, rectopexy, abdominal adhesion surgery, hernia bilateral, bowel cancer surgery and hernia unilateral.
COVID-19 testing or antibody tests are not available as a standalone service at Spire Cheshire Hospital.
