I have been working as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in Whiston hospital for the last 11 years, specialising in upper limb surgery. I have the benefit of extensive knowledge gained from over 20 years’ experience in orthopaedics. I have completed a 3 year post graduate degree course in India and have continued further orthopaedic training in the UK, mostly in Cheshire and Merseyside. My fellowship training at the world renowned Wrightington Upper Limb Unit has augmented my skills to a very high level. The experience I have gained from the years as a consultant has further polished my skills to provide consistently good outcomes for my patients, many of whom seek me out for any subsequent treatment needs.

My areas of expertise include orthopaedic surgery of the whole upper limb, such as shoulder arthroscopic procedures – rotator cuff repairs, shoulder instability surgery, frozen shoulder surgery; shoulder arthroplasties – anatomic and reverse geometry; Acromioclavicular joint reconstruction; Tennis and Golfers elbow treatment; carpal and ulnar nerve decompression, wrist arthroscopy and Dupuytrens contracture surgery. I use the shoulder arthroplasty system with proven track record and am able to provide excellent implant alignment using GPS navigation.

Other treatments I offer include elbow Outerbridge-Kashiwagi procedure, navigation guided shoulder replacement, shoulder Latarjet stabilisation and ulnar nerve decompression surgery.

Apart from my clinical interests, I share a passion to teach and have enjoyed teaching trainees at all levels throughout my registrar years and my years as a consultant. I often participate as invited faculty in training courses to teach orthopaedic trainees. I have also enjoyed participating in the managerial work, which I found stimulating. I like to contribute to any initiative that can improve productivity and deliver better patient care.

I am the lead and mentor for MCh trainee fellows posted in Whiston Hosiptal. I am the department lead for assessment of surgical mortality in Orthopaedics at Whiston hospital. I am the department lead for assessment of surgical mortality in Orthopaedics at Whiston hospital.
