MBChB MRCP(UK) MRCP Derm
I am a consultant dermatologist with substantial experience general dermatology, paediatric skin conditions and subspecialty interests in vulval dermatology, acne and skin cancer. Having worked in a district general hospital as a substantive consultant for more than 10 years I have a breadth of experience covering all aspects of dermatology practice.
I run my own vulval clinic which I set up early on in my career at my current Trust and work closely with colleagues in women's health, attending the annual BSSVD national meeting and keeping up with advances in practice within this area of dermatology.
I have published articles in leading journals in vulval dermatology, as well as a book chapter in gynaecologic dermatology.
I also run the paediatric dermatology service single-handedly at Chester, seeing all manner of skin conditions and working with the paediatricians locally as well as my colleagues in the tertiary centres. I have expertise in managing complex eczema, psoriasis and acne in children.
I graduated from The University of Liverpool in 2006 and progressed through to become a specialist on the GMC register for dermatology in 2015. My postgraduate experience occurred in the Mersey Deanery and I gained MRCP before undertaking formal dermatology training at Manchester, during which time I presented at local and national meetings, published a book chapter and won a prize at a vulval conference.
Since 2017, I have been the clinical lead for my department. In addition to this role, I was appointed as the clinical director in planned care for 2 years, taking the lead for Dermatology, Urology and plastics. During this time I undertook a 2 year leadership and development training programme, delivered by My Trust.
I am on the GMC specialist register, member of the MRCP and have experience in supervision of resident doctors in my role as educational supervisor, for which I hold GMC accreditation.
