I have been a consultant since 2018 and I am one of only a handful of orthopaedic surgeons who focusses exclusively on the treatment of hip disorders. I have been a consultant in two of the leading orthopaedic hospitals in the world, including the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London. I treat a wide variety of patients with hip problems from adolescents to the very elderly; including young adults with sports injuries around the hip.
I specialise exclusively in the treatment of hip disorders including osteoarthritis, labral tears, hip impingement, hip dysplasia, avascular necrosis and muscle injuries around the hip. I have a high volume hip replacement practice including experience of a variety of approaches (including minimally invasive techniques), different implant types and robotic assisted surgery. I undertake keyhole surgery (arthroscopy) to manage labral tears and treat hip impingement.
I perform over 300 hip operations per year, including hip replacements, revision hip replacements, hip arthroscopy and hip realignment (osteotomy) surgery. I have performed approximately 1000 hip replacements in the past six years.
I have been a member of the hip research units at Imperial College London, Bournemouth University and the Univerisity of Oxford during my career. I was the director of hip and knee fellowships at the Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford and developed new services in day case hip replacement and periacetabular osteotomy whilst in Oxford. I am regularly asked to lecture and teach other consultants on the latest in hip surgery techniques.
