I qualified from St. Mary's Hospital Medical School (Imperial College), and later undertook my specialist training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. I subsequently underwent a one-year UK advanced training fellowship in spinal surgery.
I am on the GMC specialist register for orthopaedic surgery, and am a member of the British Association of Spinal Surgeons. I am a consultant orthopaedic spinal surgeon at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
My main surgical interest is in the use of minimally invasive spinal surgical techniques. I believe that the use of these techniques improves patient outcomes and reduces length of hospital stay. I offer a full range of surgical treatments for degenerative spinal conditions including lumbar microdiscectomy, spinal decompression, minimally invasive spinal fusions, anterior cervical decompression and fusion/disc replacement, and balloon kyphoplasty, as well as spinal injections.
I ensure that I take the time to explain things clearly in easy-to-understand terms, enabling patients to make informed decisions about their treatment. I have published several research papers on trauma and orthopaedic surgery, and have presented this work at both national and international meetings.
