I promote rapid investigations and treatment for haematuria (passing blood in the urine), voiding dysfunction and suspected prostate, bladder, kidney or testicular cancer. I have a special interest in the prevention and laser treatment of kidney stones and minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery.
I obtained my medical degree at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. I worked in Namibia and the Western Cape as a junior doctor and did my basic surgical training at Guys and St Thomas’s Hospital, London and completed my Urology training as part of the North Thames rotation. I trained in general urology, reconstructive urology, pelvic oncology, stone surgery and upper tract laparoscopy.
I have been involved in research as a primary investigator on the use of botulinum toxin in idiopathic detrusor overactivity. I have published on the use of botulinum toxin in overactive bladder, prostate cancer markers and robotic pelvic and partial nephrectomy surgery.
I am an advocate for and educate GP trainees on Urology related men’s health conditions.
