Mr Arvind Mittal

I am currently a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and advanced Minimal Access (Keyhole/MAS) Surgeon at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust. I am also clinical lead for outpatient hysteroscopy (OPH) and rapid access services at this Trust. I conduct outpatient clinics and operate at both Watford General and St Albans City Hospitals. I have a long experience of more than 20 years in obstetrics and gynaecology including 10 years in the UK. I have worked in prestigious London university hospitals namely, Guys and St Thomas' and King's College hospitals.

I have a special interest in performing keyhole / laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery for benign gynaecological conditions having undertaken many years of specialist surgical training in this field. I have been conducting laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery since 1998 along with practising general obstetrics and gynaecology. I have been faculty on laparoscopic training courses and workshops in the UK and overseas.

I perform various laparoscopic procedures including laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy (LAVH), total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH), laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy (LSH) for big fibroid uterus, laparoscopic myomectomy, laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy/oophorectomy, laparoscopic sterilisation, laparoscopic surgery for ectopic pregnancy and laser / excisional treatment for endometriosis. I perform different kinds of hysteroscopic surgery including resection of sub mucous fibroid, endometrial ablation, TCRE and intrauterine adhesiolysis. I have also been trained in abdominal and vaginal surgery and urogynaecology surgery.
