Professional profile

I have been a Consultant Cardiologist in the NHS at Watford General Hospital and St Mary's Hospital in London since 2009.

I lead the non-invasive cardiac imaging department at Watford General and have established stress-echocardiography and 3D transesophageal echocardiography there. Recently I have developed a cardiac CT service for NHS patients. I treat cardiac inpatients and run a weekly outpatient clinic covering all aspects of Cardiology.

At Imperial College (St Mary's Hospital) I run an outpatient clinic for patients with heart valve disease, and perform echocardiograms. I also supervise the cardiopulmonary exercise testing service; a test that assesses the degree of exercise limitation cause by heart and lung diseases.

I am involved in research about heart failure, heart valve disease and coronary heart disease. I see patients with coronary heart disease (angina/chest pain), heart failure (breathlessness, exercise intolerance), heart valve disease (murmurs), atrial fibrillation and palpitations.

My professional ethos is molded by a holistic approach to his patients that includes a comprehensive assessment and a detailed and candid discussion about their problems and the available treatment options.
