Major research interest is in the treatment of rectal and anal cancer, and chemoradiation. Current areas of research include investigation of resistance mechanisms/predictive factors for response to chemoradiation in anal and rectal cancer, DCE-MRI changes, examination of tumour interstitial pressure and the development of novel chemoradiation regimens. I am also interested in defining an optimal field size for radiation for different stages.
I am intrigued by the evidence that the biologicals have not yet delivered on their original promise in combination with radiation. I am Principle Investigator of studies in rectal and anal cancer integrating novel drugs into Chemoradiation regimens.
