Professional profile

I am a consultant in palliative care, delivering holistic assessment and palliative management of any illness (whether cancer or non cancer) at any stage of that disease. I work closely with patients, their carers, nurses, doctors and other allied health care professionals to ensure people receive optimal palliative care and symptom control.

I trained at Leeds Medical School. During my general medical training, I developed a passion for caring for those affected by life-limiting illnesses, which led me to specialise in palliative medicine. Following my general training and membership of the Royal College of Physicians, I undertook specialist training in the East of England, gaining my first consultant position in 2010.

I am an experienced consultant in palliative care working in many different settings including hospitals, hospices and the community. Currently, I am a NHS consultant in palliative care at the Royal Free Hospital, North Camden Community, Marie Curie Hospice Hampstead and Chai Cancer Care.

I'm actively involved in training palliative care specialists and the flexible training lead for palliative care trainees in the London Deanery. I also work for the CQC (Care Quality Commission) as a specialist advisor in end of life care.

I believe patients should receive excellent, empathetic care at every stage of their illness.
